This was one of my favourite weddings to photograph. It took place over two day in St Mawes in Cornwall, over looking the harbour. The first night consisted of a BBQ where all the guests got a chance to relax and just mix with the wedding itself taking place on the following day.
The Bride had trained as a professional photographer and artist but had given up on photography as a career as she didn’t feel she was able to really capture the grittiness and atmosphere she had wanted so knew she wanted someone good. There were two high professional photographers in amongst the guests one a high end fashion photographer so I knew big things were expected of me. The groom, himself a Swiss Art critic, came to me having asked around and having viewed lots of different wedding photographers work. He said he would be happy if I were to provide just one photo of the day and that could be a smoking ashtray. Instantly I knew what he meant as I am a little like that myself, he wanted me to capture the feel of the wedding rather than just provide lots of photos of who was there. Of course it was agreed I’d provide more than just the one photo. Well I hope you enjoy.
